They pounced in Hillington Industrial Park in the early hours, leaving their victim with a nasty face wound.

The 41-year-old man was walking near to Unit Four at Hillington Park, Queen Elizabeth Avenue, when he was attacked by the three men who punched him on the face causing him extensive damage to his lip.

The suspects ran off and the injured man managed to phone for help. He was taken to the Southern General Hospital where he was treated for a serious facial injury before being released.

The suspects are all described as white male and in their 20s. One is said to be aged between 20 and 28 years, 5ft 10 tall, heavy build wearing a grey tracksuit, the second around 26 years, 6ft 4 tall, slim build wearing a grey tracksuit with hood and black/gold Nike trainers and the third aged between 20 and 28 years wearing a blue tracksuit.

Detective Sergeant Ross MacDonald at Paisley CID said: “This would appear to be a totally unprovoked attack on a man as he walked home.

“It is unclear in which direction the suspects ran off and we are currently looking at CCTV to obtain more information.

“I’d like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Queen Elizabeth Drive around 0100 hrs this morning and may have seen the three suspects hanging around the area.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Paisley CID on telephone number 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
