GENEROUS youngsters from Erskine put together bags of goods to help tragic child victims of the killer Asian tsunami disaster in 2005.

The big-hearted kids filled backpacks with items such as children’s’ clothing and stationary to help survivors achieve some normality in their school life.

Staff at Erskine Community Nursery decided to get involved with the Back Pack Project after hearing about it from organisers at the Scottish International Relief Agency.

The youngsters were delighted to help as they have seen coverage of the tsunami disaster in the papers and on television.

With the help of parents and carers they put together 30 backpacks which will be sent out to the affected areas.

A nursery spokeswoman said: “The children were all happy to participate in this appeal."

The nursery is based within St Anne’s Primary in Park Drive, Erskine.
