AROUND £5,000 worth of power tools and generators being used for work on the Erskine bridge was stolen.

Engineering equipment was lifted from the area by the service yard at Bishopton, adjacent to the M8.

The theft took place at some point during the day on Wednesday, August 31.

Chief inspector Simon Wright said: “There was a large scale theft at the Erskine Bridge service yard, adjacent to the M8.

“Around £5,000 worth of engineering equipment was taken including power tools and generators.

“The items were there in the morning and by night time they had disappeared.

“Anyone passing who may have seen anything or has been offered items for sale is asked to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
