The youngsters managed to raise a fantastic £1,200 for Sports Relief by taking part in an ongoing cycle outside the school grounds in Erskine.

Determined pupils and staff set up two static bikes, which they each had to sign up to ride on for a minimum of 10 minutes.

A spokeswoman for the school said: “There were two people cycling at all times from 9am to 2.30pm.

“The bikes were manned at the entire time by the sixth year charity committee pupils.

“There was also be a bake sale — not very healthy we know but the cakes were delicious and did raise a lot of money.”
