COPS in riot gear spent several hours negotiating with a teenager who allegedly barricaded himself within a flat in Johnstone.
It is understood a warrant had been out for the 19-year-old's arrest - and when officers turned up at his door, he allegedly locked himself within the flat in MacDowall Street at around 5.20pm.
Police say public order officers and negotiators then turned up before persuading the man to come out.
He was arrested at around 9.30pm.
Locals in the area spotted officers in helmets and riot gear at the scene which was cordoned off with police tape for several hours.
The man is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 5.20pm on Tuesday, August 16, a 19-year-old man barricaded himself within a flat in MacDowall Street, Johnstone.
"Public order officers and negotiators attended and the man was arrested around 9.30pm."
