ST Margaret's Primary's morning bread delivery was reduced to cinders after being set on fire by arsonists.

The Johnstone school was expecting their morning loaves to be delivered on Sunday, October 9.

However, between the Saturday evening at 9pm and Sunday morning at 10am, the fire raisers struck.

Staff went out to discover the three bread delivery baskets to be a burnt out mess outside the school kitchen.

Inspector Cassie Glass, who is based at Johnstone Police station, said: "Three bread delivery baskets were set alight over the weekend at St Margaret's Primary.

"It happened overnight on Saturday, October 8 into the Sunday, October 9.

"The baskets had been left outside the school kitchen but were completely burnt when staff went to collect them in the morning.

"There have been similar reports of fire raising like this in the area - we ask that anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to contact Johnstone Police on 101."
