A JOHNSTONE woodland is looking better than ever, thanks to support from a charity.
Phoenix Futures, which helps people overcome drug and alcohol problems, teamed up with Forest Enterprise Scotland for an improvements project at the Bluebell Woods.
A team from the charity’s Recovery Through Nature group has added new railway sleepers and walking surfaces, as well as planting 12 oak and 12 silver birch trees.
Phoenix Futures is now focusing on vegetation management at the two entrance ways.
Kenneth Ritchie, of Phoenix Futures, said: “This work is a fantastic therapeutic opportunity for those attempting to recover from addiction.”
