A HOMEOWNER was left shaken after finding an intruder creeping about their property.
The incident happened at Poplar Avenue in Johnstone Castle on Tuesday, August 8 during the day.
After gaining entry through an open window, the male suspect was seen lurking in the house by the occupier.
Once disturbed, the intruder made off without taking anything.
Sergeant Alan Mack who is based at Johnstone Police Station said: "The suspect managed to access the property through an open window.
"Please be wary about keeping windows unlocked during the summer as it is an easy way for intruders to gain access.
"If anyone saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at this time please get in touch by contacting 101."
