TWO men have been charged with robbery after allegedly snatching a Mercedes and threatening its owner last night.
The white C-Class was taken from Poplar Avenue in Johnstone just after 8.30pm.
It was eventually tracked down by road traffic police in Beith.
Following the incident a 38-year-old and 48-year-old man were arrested and charged with alleged robbery and a variety of road traffic offences.
They have been held in custody.
Cassie Glass, of Johnstone Police, said: "We suspect that the owner of the car was known to the alleged robbers and that it was not just a one-off incident."
