MOVE over Bruce Wayne, there’s a new Batman in town...and he is closer to home than you might think.

A superhero fan who went viral after he was seen cruising along the M8 in his Batmobile has been unmasked as Johnstone man Scott Russell.

Other motorists were left gobsmacked as they watched 50-year-old Scott driving on the busy motorway in his jazzed-up set of wheels.

Scott paid £5,000 to have the family car transformed.

And it certainly looks the part, complete with black bodywork with the iconic logo and yellow trimming.

It also sports Batman hubcaps, headlights projecting the Bat-signal and a registration plate emblazoned with ‘Protect The City.’

Scott, who works as a dispatch controller for a courier firm, then decided to complete the look by buying a Batsuit, which he wears while travelling to various charity events.

A video of the dad-of-one went viral last week when he was filmed driving on the M8 in Glasgow and flashing a thumbs-up.

He has since added to his army of fans and often finds bewildered motorists pulling up next to his car to take photos.

It is even said that, when Scott arrives to collect his 16-year-old daughter from school, teachers bring lessons to a halt to watch the Batmobile in action.
