GAZETTE readers have united in paying tribute to the life of Johnstone teenager Allan Milligan.

The 19-year-old lost his life tragically while on holiday in Spain on June 25.

He fell 50-feet from the balcony of his apartment in Playa de Las Americas in Tenerife, leaving his family and friends devastated.

Last week we spoke to Allan"s mum Elaine who said: 'I am absolutely heartbroken - my whole life feels like it has been shattered.

'He was such a good son and a hard worker - I can"t believe he"s gone.'

A special online book of condolences has been set up on the Gazette website for friends and strangers alike to leave their own personal messages.

Donna Robertson of Elderslie left a touching tribute: 'Stay strong - so, so tragic.

'I lost a sister aged 19 years and still miss her.

'Also lost my young nephew two years ago in a tragic accident aged 23.

'My thought and prayers are with you all, god bless.'

His seven best pals completed a fundraising walk to the top of Ben Lomond at the weekend.

Allan"s brother Dean, 16, said: 'The walk went well and we made it to the top - don"t know how much we"ve raised yet.'

The family are touched that even people who didn"t directly know the popular teenager have paid their respects.

Tracey Loughlin from Johnstone said: 'I didn"t know Allan but I know his friend Melissa.

'My heart goes out to Allan"s family and friends at this very sad time.'

H Smith from Glasgow added: 'I hope Allan"s friends and family will stay strong.

'He sounded like an amazing person and it is such a great loss.

'My thoughts and prayers are with you.'

Catherine Ann McSloy of Johnstone left this message: 'My thoughts and prayers are with his family, and those boys who have lost a friend.

'Thinking of you all.'

The tiling apprentice from Corseford was nicknamed "Wee Barry" after his Rangers idol Barry Ferguson and was described as "living life to the full".
