A PENSIONER was killed in a terrifying road accident on Johnstone High Street.

Horrified shoppers were heard screaming as the 74-year-old woman was hit crossing the road near Laighcartside Street at 4.20pm on Saturday afternoon (November 26).

The stricken victim was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, but doctors were unable to save her life.

A 72-year-old woman who was driving the Honda Jazz involved in the accident escaped uninjured but was badly shaken.
