A JOHNSTONE nuclear test veteran took his fight for recognition all the way to Holyrood this week.

Ken McGinley, 73, who has battled on behalf of similar veterans for over 30 years, is one of 21 Johnstone soldiers who have suffered after witnessing secret nuclear weapons tests in the 1950s and 60s.

Ken and the campaigners want the UK government to acknowledge their service, and accept responsibility for the suffering brought upon thousands of servicemen and their families.

And he believes the acknowledgement of the Scottish Government is a huge step in the right direction.
