Greig Sneddon was a manager at The Pit Stop, in MacDowall Street, when he was busted.

Cops seized a huge haul of heroin, cocaine and mixing agents – including some stuffed inside a tyre at the garage.

He was sacked when the raids and Sneddon’s underworld connections came to light.

And this week his former boss insisted Sneddon was a rogue employee who was involved in the drug trade without his knowledge.

Speaking exclusively to The Gazette, he said: “This is nothing at all to do with me and nothing at all to do with The Pit Stop. I don’t know what people get up to in their own time.

“This was one guy who took it on off his own back.” His comments came in the wake of Sneddon being remanded after holding his hands up to his criminal activities.

The High Court in Glasgow heard Sneddon was snared during a large scale police probe last September, which saw more than £1 million of drugs seized.

He played a vital role in a “substantial” drug dealing operation and the first offender is now behind bars after admitting being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine.

The 33-year-old, of Kilpatrick Avenue, Paisley, faces a lengthy jail term when he returns to the dock in August.

Police swooped last September 13 after a tip-off Sneddon was storing drugs at The Pit Stop.

Officers searched his private-registration BMW where they found Class A drugs. This included a £1 million batch of heroin wrapped inside a bag marked ‘thank you’. A further £77,000 of the drug was discovered in the car along with £20,000 of cocaine.

A separate search also uncovered 17kg of a heroin mixing agent which had been hidden in a large tyre.

A number of drug-related items – including a hydraulic press – were later found at Sneddon’s then home in Johnstone. Prosecutor Lisa Gillespie said police had discovered a “substantial drug distribution operation.” Judge Lord Burns deferred sentencing on Sneddon – who is now unemployed – until August 5 at the High Court in Edinburgh.
