The pair stayed overnight at the town's Lynnhurst venue last night after they spent the night rocking at an AC/DC gig in Hampden.
Staff posted pictures of the departing Top Gear presenters outside the four-star venue on Facebook after they checked out earlier this morning.
May, 52, and Hammond, 45, were spotted the night before pumping their hands in the air as the Highway to Hell band performed in front of a headbanging audience of 50,000 people.
Leeann Dollard, from Johnstone, was staying at the hotel at the time of their visit.
She said: "We were there last night for our first wedding anniversary and we managed to get our photo taken with Richard Hammond too - was a nice surprise."
