Around 1.15am police received a report of a car being on fire in a driveway in Churchill Avenue. They received another report of a car on fire in Sheldrake Place about 3.30am.

Following a joint investigation between Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue, the fires are being treated as wilful.

Detective Sergeant Ally Semple from Paisley CID said: “Thankfully nobody was hurt during this incident however it was nonetheless a deliberate and very dangerous act.

“It is of utmost importance that we trace those responsible and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to let us know as soon as possible.
