The 31-year-old victim was visiting a friend at Kinnaird Drive when he was set upon by two men inside the close.

Police said there was banging heard in one of the houses before the victim became embroiled in an argument with the pair.

He was struck on the head and leg with a baseball bat by two men and suffered lacerations to his head.

The victim had to have stitches at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley but police said his injuries were “not life-threatening.” One of the attackers is described as being between white, 20-30 years old, of slim build and around 5ft 8 inches tall.

The second male is described as being between 50-60 years old, with a heavy build and is also white.
