FAMILIES flocked to the Tesco store in Linwood for a fun event that kept people of all ages entertained.

Fairground rides and plenty of sweet treats were just some of the attractions on offer.

Hailley Wilson, who works in customer care at the Tesco store, said: “Members of staff got together to create a fun day experience for customers.

“We were also doing some fundraising, which we are splitting between the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

“We usually do something fun in the summer for our customers and it all comes from the staff’s ideas.

“Unfortunately, we weren’t able to have the inflatable slide or bouncy castle as planned, due to the rain, but there was a merry-go-round outside.”

And staff from the Scottish Fire and Rescue base in Johnstone brought one of their fire engines along, which proved popular with children.

The event was one of four celebrations organised by the Tesco team each year to give something back to customers.

Similar events usually take place at Easter, Halloween and Christmas.

Hailley was delighted to see so many people having fun.

She added: “Foodies were impressed with our doughnut wall and candy cart, plus there was food sampling indoors.

“The staff did a great job in organising the event and we look forward to hosting our next customer experience day.”
