COPS are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was slashed in his flat.

A 23-year-old was attacked Kintyre Avenue, Linwood on Wednesday, September 27 at 9.15am.

It is believed that two men, aged between 25 and 35, were responsible for the attack.

Following an altercation with the pair, the victim was stabbed in his home.

The two thugs are thought to have fled towards Johnstone via a nearby flyover.

Detectives, who are treating the incident as serious assault, are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Yesterday, residents were alarmed by a large police presence, as cops carried out door to door enquiries and searched cycle paths.

The victim has since been released from the Royal Alexander Hospital after receiving treatment.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A man was seriously assaulted in Kintyre Avenue on Wednesday at 9.15am.

"Anyone who may have seen anything suspcious should contact police on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
