A LINWOOD man who sent an abusive email to Glasgow City Council has changed his ways since becoming a father, a court has heard.

Craig Chamberlain emailed the council’s processions department in January 2015 with a threatening message containing sectarian remarks.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that the 26-year-old accepted full responsibility for his actions and was described as immature at the time of the incident.

It was stated that Chamberlain has since pulled away from his old social circle and is a changed man following the birth of his child six months ago.

Sheriff Mary McCrory imposed a Community Payback Order, with 120 hours of unpaid work to be completed within six months.

Chamberlain, of Ryewraes Road, was also fined £75 for failing to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court without a reasonable excuse at an earlier date.
