A GROUP of Linwood neds have been caught on camera brandishing knives and illegal drugs.

The self-proclaimed 'Terror Crew' have posted pictures of themselves with blades and booze on networking site Bebo.

Their shameful antics were captured on mobile phones then uploaded to the website, which is used mostly by children.

A local source said: "They're all just kids, but they go around thinking they're hard men.

"Posing with knives in their parents' houses isn't big or clever - they just add to the feeling that Linwood is overrun with neds.

"Calling themselves a 'crew' is laughable - the real gangs wouldn't set up a website to identify themselves.

"When they get caught then they'll meet actual thugs - in prison."

The Gazette found pictures of teenage boys posed up with dangerous knives and a bag of cannabis.

Many of the photos depict binge drinking despite many of the 'crew' looking under 18.

They have even posted their names on the homepage of the site, which will make it easier for cops to identify the ringleaders.

Local Labour councillor, Anne Hall, has condemned the teenagers' behaviour.

She said: "I am extremely disappointed to hear this news.

"This kind of irresponsible and threatening behaviour reflects badly on the town and the individuals themselves.

"They need to realise that how they behave now directly affects their future prospects for employment.

"I hope the police can work to resolve this matter as soon as possible."

Cops have been alerted to the internet activity and have vowed to rid the town of underage violence and binge drinking.

A Strathclyde Police spokesperson said: "Any information of this nature is immediately passed on to Strathclyde Police's 'Operation Access' which deals with violence-related images on websites.

"Violence and underage drinking is not tolerated in Renfrewshire.

"Any evidence will be investigated and where possible, arrests will be made.

"This information has been passed on to the team at force headquarters and enquiries continue."
