Now, Adrian Astachow, 22, of Cowal Drive, has been ordered to carry out 100 hours of community service after being hauled back to court for sentence.

Paisley Sheriff Court was told that he had bail order conditions put in place restricting him from going to a property in Tannahill Terrace, Paisley, or approaching or contacting Marta Strychalska.

But when police checked that he was abiding by the requirements they found he had failed to comply and arrested him.

On his release, we went straight back to the same house and police officers once again found him there and took him into custody.

When he appeared in court again in December, he was locked up for four weeks for a background reports to be prepared.

Defence solicitor James Arrol said that the spell behind bars had proven to be a sharp learning curve which his client never wished to experience again.

Sheriff David Pender said that as he spent a month locked up and seemed to have learned his lesson, he would release him once more with the same bail conditions in place, and ordered him to complete 100 hours of unpaid work as a punishment.
