Mercy Komban Jose, who had been working at Westerfield Care Centre in Paisley, is also alleged to have called a colleague ‘fat’ on the same night.
The care home nurse is facing nine charges of misconduct at the High Calside complex, also known locally as ‘The Home.’ Each of the incidents are alleged to have taken place between September 3, 2007 and May 2, 2012.
On the night of December 11, 2011, Ms Jose is accused of falling asleep while on duty at 3am.
This is the same date she is alleged to have undressed an elderly patient in a corridor on the first floor.
Earlier she is also accused of making rude comments to a staff member about her weight.
Ms Jose, of Paisley, is also alleged to have failed to record a number of observations whilst working as a nurse, including failing to note the administration of fluids.
She also faces a charge of failing to inform medical services when a patient became suddenly unwell.
The Renfrewshire nurse is due to appear before the Nursing and Midwifery Council today (Wednesday).
We contacted Handsale, the owners of the private home, to ask if Ms Jose was still working there, but they were unavailable for comment as we went to press.
Earlier this month The Gazette reported how another Paisley nurse was struck off after prescribing diazepam in the name of patients so she could use the drugs herself.
Rebecca Preston, who had been working part-time at the King Street doctors surgery in Paisley, was found guilty of 12 charges of misconduct which span three months from October to December, 2012.
She was suspended for 18 months before the hearing in front of the Nursing and Midwifery Council which ended on October 1.
The practice nurse is said to have used the pills – known on the street as ‘blues’ – to self-medicate.
An update on Ms Jose’s hearing will appear in next week’s Gazette.
