COPS have launched an investigation after a thug shone a laser pen at a Glasgow Airport-bound aircraft.
The incident happened on Saturday, June 25 at around 10.50pm when the aircraft was flying over Bishopbriggs near to the Asda store.
Lasers can shoot a beam to 37,000ft and are easily available online for around £10.
Firing a strong light at pilots can temporarily blind them and can affect them for several minutes afterwards, potentially causing them to lose control of the aircraft.
Police say enquiries are continuing into the incident and urge anyone with information to get in touch.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 10.50pm on Saturday, June 25, police received a report of a laser pen being shone at a Glasgow Airport-bound aircraft flying over Bishopbriggs near to the Asda store.
"Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101."
