CROOKS broke into a building previously used as a Paisley nursing home - and took a box of door knobs with them.

The chrome handles had been left in the Castlehead Nursing Home at High Calside which is currently being renovated into flats.

The nursing home, which closed three years ago, previously housed a dozen pensioners.

After gaining entry at the back of the building the crooks managed to make away with the homeware goods.

The incident is believed to have taken place between Monday, July 1 at 4.30pm and Tuesday, July 2 at 9am.

Nothing else appears to have been taken from the property.
