THE Christmas advert race has become a part of the country’s festive preparations - and this year a Renfrew mum will be the face of B&Q’s.

Mandi Morrison, 45, will star in the retailer’s national TV Christmas campaign after working at B&Q for nearly a decade.

The mum-of-two is a showroom customer advisor at the Paisley store after moving to the UK from Canada 14 years ago.

Mandi is known by staff to go above and beyond to help add festive cheer to the showroom, and has even been known to do so while wearing a full Santa suit.

When not in the showroom, Mandi is back at school where she is pursuing a degree in psychology alongside raising her two sons, aged 8 and ten years old.

On the upcoming airing of her advert, Mandi said: "I can’t wait to see my boys’ reactions.

"I don’t think they’ve properly understood they’ll be seeing their mum on TV yet.

"I found out I was chosen the day before my birthday and it was the best present I could have received.

"It’s been such an adventure and I’ve loved every minute.

"Christmas in our store is such a special and festive time for our customers and colleagues, so the fact that the advert captures this makes me feel honoured to represent our wonderful team."

B&Q’s Christmas advert broadcast on November 20 and is the latest in a campaign showcasing specially chosen B&Q colleagues.

Steven Burrell, Project Manager at Paisley added: "Everyone in the store is absolutely delighted for Mandi and being chosen is well-deserved recognition for her years of hard work.

"She’s the perfect brand ambassador and we can’t wait to see her smiling face up there with some of the favourite ads of the season."
