Two men have been arrested after more than £40,000 worth of MDMA and cannabis were found at a home in Renfrew.

After police searched a property in Sandy Road on Tuesday, approximately 900g of rock crystal MDMA and 600g of cannabis were recovered.

Two men aged 25 and 63 are now in custody for the alleged offence and will be appearing at Paisley Sheriff Court today.

The drugs were valued at around £41,500, police said.

DI Suzanne Chow of Renfrewshire and Inverclyde CID said "This is a significant recovery of drugs within the Renfrew area.

"People are pedalling drugs within our communities without thinking of the consequences, not only the consequences for them but how it affects the people who are buying the drugs, the drug users.

"It is never safe to take drugs, you do not know what is contained in them or what effect it will have on you."
