MATHS and literacy lessons are easy as one, two, three for these Renfrew youngsters.

Big Kids, Little Learners sessions run across Renfrewshire every week, where kids aged three to five, accompanied by their parents, can develop literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing through hands-on activities.

Organiser Janine Neil hosts eight classes a week in Renfrew, Houston, Linwood, Paisley, Bishopton and Erskine Pandemonium.

She told The Gazette: “We aim to make numbers and letters fun with hands-on activities.

“There are eight classes spread across Renfrewshire which we have been successfully running for a year.

“Much of the class revolves around exploring letters and numbers through colours and materials.

“It is an active session and, in particular, the kids like getting involved in activities such as clay modelling.

“Parents are a big part of these sessions too and are known as the “big kids” – it’s good fun for everyone.”
