Youngsters at a Renfrew dance group have been getting their groove on as they plan their summer show.

Members of the Rachel Elliot Performers have also been lending a helping hand in their community and are set to take part in a charity fun run.

The girls, who train at the Broadloan Masonic Hall on Thursdays and Saturdays, took a trip to Kyle Court Care Home to stage a display for residents there.

Teacher Rachel Elliot said: “It was great for the dancers to give those in the care home a little something to watch.

“It was just a little bit of entertainment for them.”

Also on the agenda for the dance troupe is this year’s 5k Bubble Rush, where the girls will be raising money for Accord Hospice, in Paisley.

Rachel added: “Around 28 of our dancers and their parents will be taking part in the race and each has a sponsorship form to raise their own money for the hospice.

“There is a lot going on at the dance school at the moment, as we have just launched a baby class for children aged between two and six.”

There are around 60 dancers training at the school, which hosts a mixture of jazz, contemporary and street dance classes.

Their summer show will take place in June.
