Leigh Milne was left heartbroken when her gran, Betty Milne, passed away suddenly of a suspected heart condition.

The 16-year-old Renfrew High pupil has worked tirelessly over the past few years raising funds for the British Heart Foundation and is hosting a ceilidh and live auction this weekend.

There will be the opportunity to bid for a night on board the brand new Norwegian Escape cruise ship before she sets sail on her inaugural cruise.

This will include dinner, bed and breakfast for two people.

Also up for grabs will be the chance to travel in style to the five star Mar Hall where guests will be served a three-course meal.

The winner will be picked up in a Lamborghini and collected after their meal.

Leigh’s mother Susan said: “Leigh’s gran was her life and she is doing all this in memory of her gran.” So far, Leigh has raised a whopping £5,000 for the charity and hopes to raise even more at the event this weekend.

Tickets are priced at £10 and are available from Susan Milne by calling 07963102578.

The event takes place on Saturday, August 29 at 7.30pm in the Lodge Prince Of Wales, Queen Street, Renfrew.
