At around 5.30am on Sunday October 11, police and emergency services responded to reports of a disturbance at luxury flat on Cardon Square in Renfrew.

A woman was also treated in hospital as a result of the violence in Ferry Village, Renfrew.

Detective Inspector Scott McCallum, from Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Division CID, said: “This was a serious disturbance involving a large number of individuals participating in a series of fights. From what we understand at this time, the incident stems from a disagreement within a flat being used for a party. The altercation continued onto the street of Cardon Square.

“A number of individuals, men and women in their late teens to mid-20’s, made off in various directions when police attended. Our enquiries are continuing to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.

“At this time, four men, aged in their late teens to mid-20’s, remain at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition following treatment for serious injuries.

“One woman was released from hospital following treatment. A number of others received treatment at the scene. It is possible that other individuals may have received injuries and have decided not to seek further medical treatment.

“Violence of this nature within our communities will not be tolerated. We have a large team of officers working towards tracing those involved in the incident. We are analysing available CCTV, conducting door-to-door enquiries and searching the local area.

“If anyone has information which can help with this investigation, or if you were at this party and have yet to make a statement, please contact officers at Paisley police office via the 101 number.”
