Insulation help
Householders in Renfrewshire are being offered free insulation for their homes to help reduce fuel bills and their carbon footprint.
Renfrewshire Council has successfully secured funding from the Scottish Government to offer home insulation measures at no cost to owners through the Universal Home Insulation Scheme.
For homes that are suitable, cavity wall and loft insulation will be installed free of charge regardless of household income.
As the available funds are limited, applications for insulation surveys will be allocated on a 'first come first served' basis.
This offer can only be accessed through the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre and appointed project installer.
Councillor Kenny MacLaren, convener of Renfrewshire Council's Housing and Community Safety Policy Board, said: "As gas and electric prices continue to increase, more and more of people are looking for ways to reduce their bills.
"This fund offers local people the opportunity to get their insulation done for free." To be considered for insulation measures, call the local Energy Saving Scotland advice centre on free phone 0800 512 012 (quoting: RenfrewshireUHIS_2011), as soon as possible to go through a free home energy check to see what support is available.
As part of the project Renfrewshire Council is also offering tailored energy advice and one-to-one support where needed.
To take advantage of this limited offer or find out more, call for free, impartial advice on 0800 512 012.
