HERE is what is making the headlines in this week's Gazette.

DOZENS of grieving Johnstone relatives planning Fathers Day tributes were left distressed after council jobsworths locked them out of a busy graveyard.

Scores of people who turned up at Elderslie's Abbey Cemetery were unable to visit the graves of their loved ones when the gates were padlocked on Sunday.

A JOHNSTONE football hooligan has been jailed AND handed a five year match ban for trying to spark a battle between rival fans after a Celtic match.

Hoops supporter Steven McGowan was one of three men locked up for their part in agitating for violence after his team were defeated one-nil by hearts.

ORGANISERS have hailed Kilbarchan's annual agricultural show a success - despite torrential rain which threatened to turn it into a washout.

Attendance dropped because of the weather but, thanks to the determination of farmers from as far afield as Irvine, the main events proceeded without a hitch.
