Renfrewshire has received a double dose of economic good news which could see the creation of 15,000 temporary construction jobs and 28,000 permanent jobs across the Clyde Valley.
The county is a key part of a City Region consortium which put together a bid for City Deal cash from the UK Government.
The new funding is expected to lead to major improvements in Renfrewshire’s infrastructure, including the Glasgow Airport Rail Link.
In a further boost, Ryanair has announced it will start operating 55 flights a week from Glasgow Airport as part of a £260 million investment.
Renfrewshire Council leader Mark Macmillan said: “This is incredible news for Renfrewshire.
The City Deal offers the potential for a step change in investment in the West of Scotland and Renfrewshire in particular. “
