Seventeen people living in flats above a shop were evacuated by firefighters as the blaze ripped through the tenement building.
Residents were asleep in their homes, in Wellmeadow Street, on Saturday morning when smoke from the burning Shop Smart started billowing through the walls at 7am.
Emergency services were called and an exclusive zone was set up. Luckily no-one was injured.
A number of people wre given temporary accomodation until they were able to return home.
