The big-hearted team at the Kenneth Edward hair and beauty business brushed off the cobwebs and got ultra fit to run the recent Paisley 10K to coin in some much needed cash for St Vincent’s Hospice. And they were delighted when clients, friends and family backed their bid by sponsoring them for the big event which saw thousands descend on the town to pound the streets for their own causes — a personal achievement, a new record breaking time or like the Kenneth Edwards team to raise money for charity.

Kenny McCormick, who owns the salons, came up with the idea to back the hospice and his staff were right behind him. When the final count was made they had managed to collect an incredible £600 for the hospice.

Kenny said: “The response was just unbelievable. The staff were enthusiastic as always and trained hard to make sure they could cope with the run. Having said that I was the one who doubted myself the most even although I am at the gym most days but I did it and it felt great.

“The clients were generous in sponsoring us and family and friends rallied round as well to help us raise hundreds of pounds. It was a fantastic day and it was great to see so many people of all ages and abilities taking part.

“We are all delighted and really proud we have been able to help such a worthy cause as St Vincent’s which is close to the hearts of so many people in our community who have been touched in some way by a life threatening illness.” Kate Lennon, chief executive at the hospice, said they were all grateful for such a wonderful donation and for the support of the team at Kenneth Edwards.
