Members of Spateston Bowling Club raised £1,700 at an event held in aid of Breast Cancer Care on August 30.

The event was in aid of Breast Cancer Care and organised by Mr Ben Greenan, of Johnstone, and his family to support those who have lost their loved ones to the deadly disease.

Tom Morrison, president of Spateston Bowling Club, expressed his absolute joy at the money raised on the Charity night for Cancer Care.

He said: “I would like to thank each and every person who donated the prizes including a signed print of Steve Chalmers and Pele (exchanging shirts at Hampden, a four ball at an Ayrshire golf course, a signed St Mirren football shirt, numerous meals for two and lots of other prizes.

“One Member, Mrs Drennan, took the ice bucket challenge and was drenched in ice water the following day “I am extremely proud of the members and friends of Spateston Bowling club who gave so freely and generously on the night to such a worthwhile cause.”
