The sponsored feat, which takes place on Friday, August 28, will see Provost Anne Hall, Karen Anderson and the skydive team jump from a plane at 10,000 ft and experiencing 30 seconds of free-fall at around 120 mph.
Karen, a veteran supporter of the Provost’s charity fundraising scheme, joined Provost Hall on her first charity event, an abseil down Renfrewshire Council’s HQ in Paisley. Last year, Karen also took part in the wing-walk, which raised £8,000 for armed forces charity Help for Heroes.
Karen said: “Charity is always close to my heart. I regularly attend St Vincent’s Hospice ladies lunch, which is always a fun afternoon, and take part in raffles and charity lotteries – every little bit helps when it comes to charity.” Each skydiver is looking to raise £500 in sponsorship and all monies raised will be split equally amongst the Provosts chosen charities.
Provost Hall said: “I am really looking for to it. It certainly is a thrilling once-in-a-lifetime event.” For more information, visit www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/provostcharity.
