John Gallagher, a father of four, scooped £1.2 million on a EuroMillions raffle on July 26, 2013.
Since then the 49-year-old has enjoyed just one holiday abroad and says he has had to deal with a steady stream of people pestering him for money.
Earlier this year he lashed out in his local boozer in Linwood when another drinker called him a “manky millionaire” and threatened to harm his dog.
Gallagher admitted the March 20 attack at the Clippens Inn when he appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court last month.
He said: “People think it’s brilliant to win the lottery but I’ve not had a night’s peace since. It’s been two years of hell.
“It’s actually the worst thing that’s happened to me because of all the hassle it’s caused.” Soon after his win Gallagher splashed out on a luxury home but now lives in a log cabin in Wemyss Bay, Inverclyde, and is planning to got back to work as a labourer.
Gallagher is due to be sentenced at Paisley Sheriff Court later this month.
