On sale in Aldi’s 62 Scottish stores, this winter’s Beer Festival is expected to be worth in excess of £161,000 to the 50 breweries involved. Crystal Ale has been selected alongside some of Scotland’s finest craft beers to feature.

This smooth premium ale has a citrus, hoppy aroma and a warming fruit spice aftertaste.

Since the first Aldi Beer Festival took place in November 2012, the event has proved hugely successful and demand for craft beer in Scotland shows no signs of slowing down.

Michael Whiteford, buying director at Aldi in Scotland, said: “The success of the Scottish Aldi Beer Festival continues to exceed our expectations and speaks volumes for the quality and popularity of the craft ale being produced in Scotland. In each festival we continue to uncover new Scottish breweries and in turn offer them a fantastic platform to showcase their great quality beers across all our Scottish Aldi stores.” Tony Jerome, from the Society of Independent Breweries, said: “It is fantastic to see Aldi grow the in-store beer festival and showcase such a great range of beer from some of Scotland’s finest craft brewers, many of which are members of SIBA. With such an array of colours, styles and strengths included in this beer festival, all beer drinkers will be able to find something to suit their taste buds.”
