Residents were evacuated from a building after a stolen car crashed into the property and caused a gas leak. 

The crash happened at Saracen Street, Glasgow, at approximately 1.40am in the early hours of Monday. 

Two men have been taken into custody.

The car is believed to have struck gas fixtures and caused a leak.

Scottish Fire and Rescue evacuated thirteen residents from the building. 

Repairs to the gas fixtures were carried out in the early hours and the gas leak has been sealed off. 

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "The crash happened at about 1.40am on Monday.

"A vehicle lost control on Saracen Street and collided with a block of flats, causing damage to some of the gas fixtures. It was necessary to have 13 people evacuated.

"The damage has now been repaired and the gas leak has been sealed off. Two men are in custody in relation to a stolen vehicle."
