Motorists are being reminded that a section of the busy M8 motorway is being partially closed as works enter their second week.

The Evening Times previously reported on the six-week overnight project to replace barriers between Junctions 28 and 30.

Work started last Sunday, September 3, and will last until mid-October.

Works will take place from 8pm each evening to 6am the following morning from Sunday to Thursday, avoiding the busier Friday and Saturday overnights.

A full closure of the westbound carriageway is being implemented with an offside lane closed in the eastbound direction.

Midway through the works, trunk road maintenance company Scotland TranServ will alter to a full closure of the eastbound carriageway with an offside lane closure westbound.
