THESE are the chilling images showing hitman David Scott stalking Euan ‘EJ’ Johnston for an hour before shooting him in the head as he sat at traffic lights.

Scott, 33, was found guilty by jury at the High Court in Glasgow on Thursday and sentenced to life behind bars.

It emerged that Scott repeatedly drove past Red Pepper restaurant on St Andrews Road where 29-stone Mr Johnston was eating with friend Brian McMahon, 31, in one of the window seats on the night of November 15, 2016.

The jury was shown CCTV footage which illustrated the timeline of the shooting.

At 10.46pm, Mr Johnston and his friend were seen entering Red Pepper and ordering a meal.

Scott’s Audi Q5 was seen at 11.30pm driving towards the restaurant and then driving past it twice.

At 11.32pm, the Audi Q5 parked in McCulloch Street which gives a view of Red Pepper.

The Audi Q5 was parked there some time and men from the car were seen walking past Mr Johnston’s car.

As Mr Johnston drove off in his Audi RS4 at 11.39pm, the men ran back to their Audi Q5 and both cars headed towards Shields Road.

As Mr Johnston sat waiting for the traffic lights to change at the junction of Shields Road and Scotland Street, while chatting to his partner Danielle Carruthers on the phone, the Audi Q5 drove alongside and three shots rang out.

At 11.41pm, Mr McMahon telephoned the emergency services to say Mr Johnston had been shot.

Two of the bullets hit Mr Johnston in the head. One went through his brain causing an unsurvivable injury.

The third bullet hit the rubber seat around the driver’s door of Mr Johnston’s car.

A source reportedly said of that fateful night: “They stalked his every move.

“The car was used by the gang to carry out surveillance on Johnston.”

“The Q5 is seen driving in the area, passing the restaurant, making U-turns and then passing the restaurant again. This continues for almost an hour,” said the insider, according to The Scottish Sun.

Scott showed no emotion as he was led away to begin his sentence.

His co-accused Anthony Ruthven, 33, was cleared of murdering Johnston after prosecutor Alex Prentice withdrew the charges against him during the trial.
