A SCOTS farmer has discovered an inventive way to help a young cow feed properly - and it involves an old M&S bra.

Farmer Donald Ross, Easter Ross in the Highlands, had the internet in stitches this week after posting a picture on Twitter of the women’s undergarment wrapped around a cow’s udder.

Donald’s neighbour Graham Burnett noticed one of his calves could not get to and suckle from the rear part of its mother’s udder.

The Gazette:

Along with his wife, Graham used her old bra to hide the front section of the udder from the calf could get to where it needed to.

Turns out the cow was at risk of a condition called mastitis which sees the mammary gland become inflamed.

The Gazette:

Ross highlighted how the bra method was more beneficial than emptying the udders by hand or machine.

After posting the initial tweet, Ross then returned to report the plan had worked.

His tweets gathered thousands of reactions and users of the sight were quick to congratulate him.

Ingenious? We definitely think so.
