A MAN spotted with a 'bow and arrow' on a street in Cumbernauld has been arrested.
Residents in Carbrain were told to lock their doors on Monday night after the alarm was raised at around 8.20pm.
Police and a force helicopter searched the area around Torbrex Road.
The Evening Times understands residents were told by officers to stay indoors.
Officers confirmed one man had been nicked over an alleged breach of the peace.
It is understood that the bow and arrow the man had was a toy.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “At around 8.20pm on Monday, officers attended Torbrex Road in Cumbernauld following reports of a man in the street with a weapon.
"A man has been arrested and is anticipated to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court."
