LOCHWINNOCH Bowling Club was broken by a group of three masked robbers.

The group forced entry into the building at Calderhaugh Lane on Sunday, June 19.

Two local residents saw a silver Ford car sitting outside their address which overlooks the area.

Witnesses saw torch lights in the building and contacted the police at around 11.45pm.

Inspector Stevie Espie said: "It looks like a number of people have forced front door to bowling club and entered the property with intent to steal.

"Police were contacted at the time however it appears the driver of the car saw the attention of residents and made off down the street.

"A dog handler unit attended the scene which saw the door broken open and damage in the property.

"We searched the local area however the people or vehicle were not traced.

"Nothing was stolen at this point but there was damage to the front door of the property and areas in the bowling club itself."
