Bridge of Weir Primary School has received a donation from David Wilson Homes to regenerate its playground.
The housebuilder has donated 30 log stools, as well as ‘repurposed’ logs and trunks from its development at Weirs Wynd, in Brookfield.
As an added bonus, the company donated 45 hours of labour to help the school make full use of the new equipment.
Some of the wood is being used as chippings in the playground to ensure sufficient padding.
Seating areas and balancing beams have also been introduced.
Susan Bell, depute headteacher at Bridge of Weir Primary, said: “The donation from David Wilson Homes is really generous. Not only did they donate some of the trunks and the log stool but they donated people to help us put these materials to good use.
“The playground looks amazing. We have lots of little seating areas for the children, as well as eco-friendly play equipment
Estelle Sykes, sales director of David Wilson Homes, added: “It’s a pleasure for us to give back to the communities where we’re creating developments.
“The donation of materials and labour hours ensures that the school creates a safe and sustainable play area for the children.”
