A HOUSEBUILDER has donated cash to a Girl Guides group after winning an award from the National Home Building Council for the eighth year on the trot.
David Wilson Homes marked winning the five-star builder accolade by giving £150 to the Kilbarchan Girl Guides, who are based close to the company’s Weirs Wynd development, in Brookfield.
The Girl Guides currently have 160 members and are run by 30 adult volunteers.
Estelle Sykes, sales director for David Wilson Homes, said: “Groups such as Brownies, Girl Guides and Scouts remain pillars within the community.
“Supporting community groups is a real pleasure for all of us at David Wilson Homes and we look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.”
Weirs Wynd is a mile from Kilbarchan and is set to include a range of three-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached homes, plus a selection of four, five and six-bedroom properties.
Christine Erwin, from Girl Guiding in Kilbarchan, said: “We’re so delighted that David Wilson Homes has reached out to us.”
