A MAN is facing trial accused of stealing alloy wheels and booze from a flat in a Renfrewshire village.
John Thomas is said to have helped himself to the items, as well as a television and a quantity of electrical items, after breaking into a flat in Main Road, Elderslie.
Prosecutors claim that 34-year-old Thomas gained entry to the flat, which was rented by a man named Finlay Shand, between February 17 and March 24 this year.
Thomas denies breaking into and stealing from the flat and pleaded not guilty at a pre-trial hearing at Paisley Sheriff Court.
A trial is scheduled to take place later this month.
