HIGHLAND dancing and a bouncy castle were among the attractions on offer at the Adams House summer fete.

The Elderslie-based residential service, run by CrossReach, cares for those who have been diagnosed with dementia.

Staff from Adams House hosted their fundraising event at the Elderslie Kirk, with hundreds of revellers in attendance.

A variety of stalls, face painting, games and all sorts of tasty treats kept guests entertained.

And a fantastic total of £1,300 was raised, with all funds being used to provide activities for the residents.

Marjory Perrit, who is activities coordinator at Adams House, was delighted with the turnout.

She said: “It’s an annual event that has been running for as long as I can remember - and I’ve been here for 16 years.

“There were loads of activities for kids and grown-ups to enjoy, with the bouncy castle and Highland dancers among the most popular.

“A DJ also kept the crowds entertained and kids loved getting their faces painted.

“There was lots of food on offer too, such as home-baking, hot dogs and burgers.

“We’d like to thank everyone who came along and made the day such a success.”

Adams House is a dementia unit that has around 30 residents who require care.

Funds from the summer fete will help to play for the likes of day trips for residents.

Staff are also looking forward to hosting their Christmas fun day.
